    Flashpoint TPB

Okay this was released this week. I'm curious how good this was and if it's worth picking up in a collected edition? I'm treating this as an elseworlds story and not part of any continuity so I can keep it separate from this new 52 stuff. I'd read this was a cool story with it basically being a war between Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Sounds neat. I also read this is Kubert's best work.

I was going ot drop by a comic shop in the morning on the way to work and grab this if it's any good. I'll trust the experts here and base my decision on your recommendations. This only has the actual Flashpoint books and not the tie-ins. Good? Bad? Crap? Please fill me in.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I'm not sure if Flashpoint would be your cup of tea... Too much excess continuity spilling in and out of the main storyline into other books. The amazon/Atlantis stuff didn't really feel too satisfyingly addressed in the main book. My pick of all the superfluous tie in minis was the Batman mini by the 100 Bullets team of Azzerello and Risso. A good else worlds story with a bit of a twist we haven't seen before. Nicely self contained in three issues. I found it quite gripping.

Scott, the art is nice and there are some interesting elseworld's type play with various characters, but the story itself isn't anything you haven't read before, and the more interesting aspects of the Wonder Woman/Aquaman War played out in their mini series and others. Overall, the idea of a Wonder Woman/Aquaman war was a better idea than story in those mini series.

If you read Flash Rebirth and all 12 issues of the Flash series that led up to Flash Point, there is somewhat of a resolution to all that.

But honestly, if you want to read a good Flash story, pick up the first two issues of the new Flash series. It's truly a breath of fresh air.

        hmmmm....

I liked Flashpoint very much so myself ...., and really was the best Multi-story I had read since Blackest Night . I did just treat the book as an Elseworlds story ...

I got involved in a few of the other books too though . Probably read like 5 of the titles. I don't think you need to read any of that stuff ..., But I was Fasinated with Deathstroke Being a Pirate of the sea, Thomas Wayne Actually being not shot that Night ...., The Aquaman/Wonder Woman Battle..., and Sinestro still a Green Lantern with Abin-sur still alive.

Andy Kubert Did a Fantastic Job of Penciling this story ..., and to me was one of the best books he had done since Batman vs Predator and his Ka-Zar Run.

It's worth a Grab and a Read imo . But I love Elseworld books ..., I have a lot of em.

          ^^^
of all the aliens/predator vs books, the first Batman vs Predator was a huge guilty pleasure for me. I think it was the one that kicked off the trend. To the point where the only Abbott and Costello have not fought the aliens or predators.
