It appears DC doesn't think so.

I love The Elongated Man but the problem is DC seems to think he's interchangeable with Plastic Man (which he's not) and they substitute Plas quite often because he's more recognizeable of a character.

But to me Ralph is a crucial part of the Satellite Era JLA, even moreso that the last addition Firestorm. DC really missed the boat by not playing up his ability more as The Ductile DETECTIVE. IMO, Ralph is probably 2nd only to Batman in his sleuthing. And when you add in his wife Sue as well as his lack of a secret identity I think DC could have had a nice mystery series where they travelled across country and around the world exposing the dark secrets of the DCU.

Instead they chose to let Sue be raped and killed off in "Identity Crisis" and then they killed off Ralph in "52"...idiots

You know I don't consider Magog a significant character and yet he got an action figure....

It is pretty fascinating that DC won't green light an elongated man when you see some of the character choices that have been included in DCU Classics... I mean the made-up Super Powers guys like Golden pharouh or even the broccoli head green lantern?

The Matty sub is supposed to be fan choice after all. Seems like something easily accomplished with repaint parts.

Didn't he have at least one DC direct figure or JLU?

I've always liked Ralph better than Plastic Man. As a kid Plastic Man always seemed silly compared to Ralph in the Justice League stories.

Now at the time I had never read Jack Cole's work from the 40s. I appreciate his work and Plastic Man's place in comics history. Plastic Man is more well known and has a much more important place in comics history than Elongated Man, but give me Ralph as a character any day.

Now, Morrison did some nice things with him in JLA and I think Joe Kelly had a JLA issue that was basically Batman and Plastic Man story that was pretty good. But I still like Ralph better.

I have the DCUC Plastic Man and would love to put Ralph in his Satellite JLA uni next to him. I'd also like to have Elastic Lad, too.

Heck, I wouldn't have minded a ghost detective series with hiim and Sue

EM falls into that category of DC heroes who were fun. He, along with Krypto, Bizarro World, and the Marvel Family have no business going around brightening up the dark & menacing new 52.

"We don't need two stretchy guys" - John Stewart (Green Lantern) in JLU

I like Elongated Man. I don't understand how DC can allow a character with a shark head to be part of the DCUC line but not him....

I like Ralph. I think most forget he was primarily a Detective, and the stretching was more of just a visual stimulant in his stories. I think Ralph suffered after Julius Schwartz retired. It think Julie liked his character and tried to find places to spotlight him, such as JLA. What DC did to him and Sue was a sign of things to come under DiDio's reign.

DCUC has let in a lot of less significant characters, Ralph should get his due. I agree Plastic Man is more famous and more important in comic history, but the line can support two pliable guys. If we can have mutiple, rainbow-colored lanterns, we can have two stretchy dudes.
