At the expense of Aquaman this time, not J'onn J'onzz. What is DC's fascination with Cyborg in the JLA? It's not even like he's one of their top 20 heroes....I mean c'mon.

They're probably making the animated films look more like the new DCnU comics. Notice they have Hal instead of Kyle and J'onn is wearing his other uniform?
^ I don't totally understand why they're doing that...Tower of Babel was a pre-DCnU story, so why not do it justice and do the characters they way they originally were...

Well.... it's the same thing we saw in the 90's when the X-Men made the jump to film and tv: they cherry picked to good plots and shovelled the currnetly popular characters into them. Hence Gambit being on the shuttle when Jean "died" in the cartoon, or Rogue being the equivalent of Kitty in the movies.
Really? Over say Aquaman? I don't think so. Outside of comic fans I don't think Cyborg has the name recognition with the general public that DC thinks he does. I realize they've been trying to give him a push since the old Super Friends Galactic Guardians days but I still don't think he's a household name.

I dunno.... I bet he got some rep from the Titans cartoon. He's also a big robot guy, and I can see the suits figuring they need more of those since it's what you see in so many other media these days; like video games or movies.
On top of being a "robot guy" Cyborg is also DC's only African-American hero who isn't "Black" something or a black version of a white guy (John Stewart, Steel, etc).
I don't really care for them shoehorning Cyborg in, but this was Dwayne McDuffie's last work, and Bruce Timm is producer, so I have faith it will be good.
