Wow, that was THE moment to use, and it was great. Year One is one of my all-time favorite Bat-tales. I can't wait for this.

        Hmmmm....

So.... this is the one where Batman wets himself, isn't it? I wonder if that'll be on the film. (Bonus features maybe?)

Geez, you had to bring that up didn't you. Kevin Smith should be slapped senseless for that. The man has never written a sincere moment in his life.

To me that is the ONLY good part about the DC reboot. It wiped that crap out no doubt.

                  Yes I did. BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!!!

                  >The man has never written a sincere moment in his life.

True, but that's his thing. It'd be like going to see Don Rickles and being cheesed about what a jerk he is.

I don't blame Smith for that sort of thing.... if blame MUST be placed it's with the execs who hired him for the name. I can't think of anything he's done that'd make someone think: "Y'know who'd be good at writing for our dark, brooding character....?"

^Good point. DiDio has been a media chaser since the moment he set foot in the door. I'm surprised he didn't invite each American Idol contestant to revamp Superman or something.

It's the natural progression of the 80's. By the late 80's we saw the advent of what my buddy Wayne called "Designer Comics;" where folks would follow a wirter or (most often) an artist more than the books they were producing. That sort of thing abolutely skyrocketed in the 90's. The porblem? It took emphasis away from the book, and more onto the PRODUCTION of the book. You needed a name, but not neccessarily a name appropriate to your material. (Or even a name that was any GOOD. The 40 Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings: CASUALTY OF WAR!! - Progressive Boink )

When you take the emphasis away from content like that, you can start slapping WHOEVER into the role; the bigger the name the better. (I think JMS was the first of the current wave.) Medium name Hollywood folks are bigger than big name comic book folks, so there you go.

Totally off topic, but thanks DOn for posting that Liefeld link. Great stuff. I don't know how he ever got hired to do anything. Worst penciller in the history of major comic publishers.

Back on topic, this could be very cool. I'm not ahuge Batman fan, but that was a neat choice for a film.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

I doubt Batman ever pee'd himself, but I think I almost did by reading the Liefeld link. Thanks for that! :D
