    I met Jim Woodring!

I'm a big fan of his comics, so I jumped at the chance to attend an 'in conversation' with Jim Woodring.
He signed and drew a picture in his new graphic novel 'Congress of the Animals' for me, and I got to ask a couple of questions and have a chat with him.
A nice person and a really cool artist, if you're into hallucinogenic funny animal comics

    Awesome!

I like his work a lot, but don't know a lot about him - so when I met him at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival last year I felt like a bit of a doofus because I really wanted to meet him, but I didn't really have much to ask him or talk to him about. He was nice enough, I just feel like I wasted an opportunity.

What's your favorite Woodring book? Where's a good place to start?

Well, I'm afraid I may have been a bit a of a gushing fanboy, but that's ok, not too many comic book artists make it out to Australia.

The Book of Frank is good place to start. It's a collection of all the previously published stories, so many of which are fantastic.

Weathercraft, then Congress of the Animals, are full lenght graphic novels that are his more recent stuff.
