    The art of Ditko

The Art of Ditko - Art Books

Steve Ditko, the co-creator of Spider-Man and Dr. Strange, remains an enigma, though this book draws us closer to the artist and gives us a better understanding of his amazing work. Introducing the very best of rare and striking Steve Ditko comic book stories and original art, this large-format beautifully showcases Ditko’s work, with many reproductions of original art pieces by the master comic book artist. Edited and designed by Craig Yoe (Secret Identity), with essays by P. Craig Russell, John Romita, and Jerry Robinson, plus an all-new introduction by Stan Lee.

love me some Ditko, he's contributed a LOT to the big two and always found his creations intiguing and to be great counterpoints to the traditional Kirby type heroes.

IDW's artist series of books is a fanboy's dream. We're really spoiled for the amount of material exploring every scratch and scribble the Greats ever laid down getting into print to naval gaze to our heat's content.

Wally Wood volumes coming out from multiple publishers is of great interest to me... Particular when the focus on his earliest work before the madness, addiction, and comics industry ground him down.

I have it, it's nice. Some of that Charlton stuff Ditko did looks so pretty when it's printed correctly.

Ditko has some pretty set in stone personal beliefs, and that determines what he'll draw and for who.

I love all these big art tomes coming out that are directly connected to the field of comic book artistry. Perhaps it finally lends some credence and gravitas to an art form that had [or is, in some cases] still looked down upon....!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
