I'm still saddened this fell through. I think it would have been a great way to reintroduce girls to Wonder Woman.

I have mixed feelings about this. While I think the toyline would have been nice for little girls, at the time I thought the proto toys shown at Toy Fair were pretty bad and just a chance for reuse She-Ra molds. There is a nice article in an older Back Issue about this as well.

The castle and figure sculpts were totally new. Only the winged horses look to use She-Ra molds. The Star Riders figures were a about an inch taller than She-Ra so the horses might have actually used an new sculpt too. The horse in Mattel's Dazzle line also looks like the She-Ra horse mold but is much smaller.

I see that Garcia-Lopez did design work for the line, was he also the artist on the Cinnamon Mini Bun promo mini that was the only print appearance of WW & the Star Riders?

I have one of the promo books Mattel gave out at toy fair that year and it's got some good info and pics of them.

I wish they would have done them as well.

I believe these use the bodies Mattel later utilized for the Disney Princesses.

I use the Disney Princesses for teen Titans scale customs. Neato.

This line was obviously intended for little girls and would have needed to appeal to their tastes. Like the DC Fisher Price little People and the DC Imaginext stuff this was not a line intended for adult male collectors.

I think it would have been great for kids and it was a real shame it didn't happen. It would have introduced an entire new generation of girls to Wonder Woman, super heroes and DC comics.

^I agree Werewolf. And my current, parent to little girl self agrees. But at the time I saw those in Tomart's I was really disappointed, because Toy Biz was making every Marvel figure under the sun, and Kenner would only make Batman figures at the time. I wanted comic accurate figures dagnabbit!

In hindsight, I wish this line would have been made. Cindy would have been all over these. She has the mini-comic.
