Overall, the costume isn't all that bad looking, way better than WW2 costume, but I just wish they didn't have those shoulder stripes, their very distracting to the classic simplicity of Caps suit.

After watching the movie (twice!) I have absolutely no problems with the WWII suit, but this is a nice, more traditional updating. Looks like Evans is a bit less blond here than in First Avenger, but it may be the lighting. Maybe for scenes without his cowl, they'll dye his hair.

Same here Chris...I liked the WW2 suit! And I was so totally engrossed in the movie that it wasn't something I thought about.

I hope the sheild wasn't repainted. I loved the bare metal replacing the white. Looked really good.

I think I liked the WWII version a little better than the mod version. In the mod version, he just looks---I dunno---a little silly. I think they would've done better to raise the wings off the cowl a little bit just to give it some shape other than Chris Evans' head. I'm sure Stark could've found some reason to have them raised---maybe as radio units, much like Bat's ears are in the Nolanverse....

I like the WWII costume better...it was a more realistic soldier's getup.

This new one looks like he's going scubadiving.

And this is why comic book costumes don't translate well to the movie screen, and that's why I understand why they go with the leather look sometimes.

Yeah.... especially 'cos they look like chevrons. Which would make him Private America.

They sure would! I've seen pics where he has two, but they bend like chevrons. Making him Corproal America.

That's not too bad. Would've liked to see the head wings like everyone else, though. So what about the villain? Perhaps Thanos?

We don't know that he doesn't use the WWII costume for part of this film. This modernized costume, on the whole, looks close to the comic version.
