What Avengers? ...I don't see any...I guess they were busy?!?!
I know this is someone's cup-of-tea, but it ain't mine.Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much! -
I agree. It's always good to see Neal Adams' work, but The Avengers this ain't. And why is it that Adams' art is degrading? I know he's getting older. but it's like he's not happy with how his stuff looks/looked, so he's trying to make it look like someone else. Sad. Adams' is one of the grandfathers of modern comics art....sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

I hafta say it....I think Neal Adams has lost his sanity (see Batman:Odyssey) and his touch as an artist...I don't really care for his modern stuff, his edge is gone.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

It just looks like a loose sketch blown up and computer colored even at his age he still draws better than most artist will ever in their lifetime.....Comment

that Avengers line up ranks up there with the time that Simonson was writing the book with Reed and Sue, Cap and other lame members. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I love Neal Adams, but he's lost his inner editor. He needs an inker. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anyone he would trust.Comment

I think an Adams-Sinckeiwicz team would be good, or the guy who inked most of Ivan Reis' run on Green Lantern....sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! I love Adams art, His Batman classic stories/art are still revelent in todays messed up comic world. He is a true master when it comesto comic/art. But, I find that the above Avengers cover is not up to par with his other classics. Is he trying to change his style in some manner? I agree that while the art above is not as t was before, Mr Adams can still draw miles above the so called new artists in todays comic world.Comment

I think the funniest thing about New Avengers is the fact that they have finally figured out how to get a book that in any other incarnation has/would/should be called The Defenders or Heroes For Hire, into the Top Ten as a best seller... Call it something-Avengers. (they did the same thing with Dark Avengers... Those guys were essentially spun out of Thunderbolts. A mid-list title at best that suddenly shot up the sales charts with a title change ). No wonder Marvel is suddenly slapping Avengers on every other title like they were X's. Why call them the New Warriors when Young Avengers is proven to sell much better?Last edited by samurainoir; Aug 12, '11, 10:47 AM.Comment

not sure if this is necessarily an unfair Observation given the fact that in the past quarter century, Neal Adams has not been known for being very prolific, and is suddenly got what looks like quite a large work-load between Batman, Avengers and all the variant covers he's doing for Marvel in one month.

Throw Dick Giordano or Tom Palmer's inks on that image and it would look slick. But I agree it looks like fairly loose pencils compared to Adams old work with color on top.
And I totally agree with the comments about the characters. If I didn't know, I would have thought it was a cover for Marvel Team-up not the Avengers.Comment

Weird. I just assumed Adams had retired as I hadn't seen him contributing anything to comics in years and years. The decline in his art style is unfortunately reminiscent of John Byrne over the last couple of decades.
And yeah, Spidey and Wolvie as Avengers?Comment

The Hawkeye cover is kinda sweet (Adams was alway the freakin' king of foreshortening), but the Hulk cover is a bit "meh." Perhaps it's a mental thing, but to me, Adams' work seems to lend itself to DC characters moreso that Marvel characters....sigpic Oh then, what's this?
