I think I'd go back to Spidey #122 (I think that's the one where Osborne bit it), and have Spidey get knocked unconcious at the end of the issue only to wake up in issue #123 remembering some really bad dreams about symbiotes and clones and all the other CRAP that has gone down since then. I'd take him back to his roots and find a artist who could do him as well as Romita, Sr. without being a complete swiper....

That was my intent, no clones no spiderbuggy no marriage to Maryjane no Gwen/Noman off spring and Sorry Spidey you are not an Avenger

Cut him down to three titles a month Amazing/Spectular and Marvel Team up and one special 12 part maxi series writen by Alan Moore and drawn by Jim Strenko now thats how a Spidey special event should be done
