Bad Karma has already started for this film. Crowd reaction to the Spiderman teaser at our Captain America viewing was disinterest. Two people behind us who were comic fans (determined from discussions overheard prior to the movie) said the film looked terrible. I think between the third (and final chapter) of Batman, plus the Avengers, Spider-man may be next Summer "bomb".

However...in defense of him...I can add that some security guards get that gun-ho mentality...you give them a uniform and a badge...and suddenly they think they are a police officer...and start doing stupid stuff...thinking they have more authority than they really have...many are just not educated and trained enough to do a proper job.
I should know...because I was a security guard for two years long ago...and I came across many guards who acted like jerks...I have first hand knowledge on this subject.
So I can't fully blame him...until all the facts are out there.sigpicComment

I’d give the security guard some slack since celebrities are the most entitled brats in the galaxy. I doubt at an event like Comic-Con the guards would suddenly decide to flex their muscle to prove a point like this. The story sounds valid and is backed up by the cops who arrested him after the panel; the incident happened before the panel and he was allowed onstage.Comment

No kidding! This fat belly whopper security clown kept telling people to lean against the wall while we waited in line for Carpenter's autograph. The reason? People standing outside the line would "prevent" air from "flowing" back to the others waiting... REALLY?
His constant presence was 'blocking' more air than we could have combined...

I went to Hallmark yesterday to go ornament shopping, and of all the superhero ornaments released this year, Batman, GL, Thor, CA, 60's Batmobile...the ONLY one that was sold out was Spider-Man.
People love the guy...Comment

Oh I LOVE Spider-man. I would never question the popularity of the character. Easily my favorite hero. But we're talking about a movie here. And we're talking about an audience that was endeared to the original cast. Don't be so sure just because a studio reboots, that translates into big money. Some properties are given another chance if the initial movie failed but the license is still popular. In this instance the movies were all huge and they rebooted anyway. HUGE MISTAKE. I fully expect a kickback from rebooting the franchise too soon. If Studios start thinking these films are just costume pictures and the actors are not important, you'll see a serious decline in the quality of future projects.Comment

I know I'll be there opening weekend. I've loved every version of Spidey to date, each for different reasons. I'm willing to give Garfield a chance. What I really can't wait to see is the Lizard.Comment

"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
