I actually kinda liked this version. The 80's "we're NOT the X-Men" team was WAY too uptight, and the current one... er.....
I prefer my superheroes very 60's... that weird "anything goes" sort of approach to storytelling, and the absolutely insane bad guys. Cardy was an interesting artist too. A lot of his stuff looks kinda flat; but I suspect that had to do with timings and a lack of speed on his part, 'cos stories like the Titans Christmas Carol they did were amazing!
Yup I'm aware of that mini series. I'll definitely be picking up a copy. The art looks pretty good, minus Aqualad, like stated above. I agree with the way he looks. It's just wrong. Why they'd have to make him look like he was a druggie?
When it comes to the Teen Titans, I've always preferred the original team because it is the sidekicks of some of the Justice League team members and who better to lead than Robin. The 80s Titans were fine but give me the originals any day.
Cheers.
He's a fish dude that hardly sees daylight. You'd look pasty, too.
While, I can infer the rationale for the different nuances, I still don't know that I like the look. Especially in retro continuity. But I guess Titans fans have seen our share of incarnations over the years
