Captain America and others for kids?

Everybody has different standars for what their children can watch and children react differently.

I am not going to let my 4 and 7 year olds watch this at this time because of realistic war scenes with young soldiers getting killed. there are some other scary and sad parts.

i may have them watch it on DVD while I skip parts.
it is more kid friendly than Iron Man 1.

i don't pretend like there is no evil in the world but i want them to be able to understand it and teach them fact before intertwining it with fiction as much as possible

for a typical 13 year old this movie is absolutely fine.

for my daughter and her 7 year old friends - no for me, but it is definitley a parental call.

for my 4 year old and her friends - no

7-12 year old ALTERNATIVE-- My 7 year old is watching the 1990 cap right now as I type. Though she was very sad when Bernie died. I forgot that was coming. She asked some questions. And we talked out it.

2-12 year old alternative - Captain America II Death too soon from the late 70's.

Also great for all ages- the limited animation Cap cartoons from the 60s. "When Captain America throws his mighty sheild!"

I wouldn't take children to any of the superhero movies that are out now. 60s Batman, classic Star Wars and old Godzilla flicks are as violent and scary as I let it get.

I guess I first saw Planet of the Apes when I was 4 or 5 at the drive-in, and that has killings, guys' naked butts, a lobotomy--it was pretty messed up, and it was also phenomenal. I think we actually might be more conservative now about children's entertainment than people were 30-40 years ago. That's probably a sign we're a bit wiser as a culture. Then again, I'm not sure how pervasive that is; it might be something more prominent among people here, rather than society in general. It seems people here have their heads on pretty straight, more so than a lot of oblivious parents I see out in the wild, so to speak.

I'd probably say ages 10 and up on this one. Though I saw much worse when I was younger then that.
