Dark Shadows Returns in October - Comic Book Resources
Okay, so my part of the story. About 11 months ago, I was knee deep in Dark Shadows mania as I'd been watching volume after volume of the DVD releases. One day it sorta dawned on me Dark Shadows really was something you could continue in comic book form. Dynamite, to me, seemed to be the most obvious group to do this. So on a whim, I guessed Nick Barrucci's email and Dynamite, and guessed right. I said to him, with the Johnny Depp movie in development [it was development still, with a start date that kept pushing forward] now would be the time to get the rights to Dark Shadows. Nick liked the idea and asked if I knew how to get in touch with the rights holder, Dan Curtis Productions. I only had what was probably an old residential address, and Dan had passed on. But I dug around, the Shadowgrams fansite, and they got me in touch with Jim Pierson, who does the Dark Shadows Festival and handles licensing for the estate. I told him I was a contact for Dynamite and they'd like to get his information to contact him about a book. He gave it to me. I gave it to Nick. 11 months later...here we are.
Not bad huh?
