    Captain Planet has to be the most cringe worthy, heavy handed, ham fisted, politically correct to the point of parody, beastly unentertaining, uncreative, artifically corporate hip cartoon ever excreted upon kids.

      I think Neal Adams did all of the character designs for that. Neal's designs sometimes leave much to be desired (as opposed to say Gil Kane or John Romita). I never could sit through much of it. I was a bit beyond it's age deomographic and it smacked too much of heavy handed pandering.
