For those that liked the Punisher: Born series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, there is currently a sequel of sorts in PunisherMax right now by Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon.
They have really found some fertile ground to explore here... I can't believe nobody has really covered the period between Frank Castle's time in Vietnam and the death of his family.
Some really heartbreaking stuff going on in this story arc as a somewhat shell-shocked Frank tries to come to terms with his family, civilian life, and his urge to "Punish".
Jason Aaron had previously wrote an excellent Vietnam War series for Vertigo called The Otherside. (inspired by his cousin, who wrote Full Metal Jacket)
