10 Possible Story Casualties of the DCnU

    From Newsarama: http://www.newsarama.com/comics/10-s...-110708-1.html

    10. The New Teen Titans
    9. Crisis on Infinite Earths
    8. Legion of 3 Worlds (and other recent Superman/Superboy/Legion stories)
    7. Grant Morrison's JLA
    6. Final Night
    5. James Robinson's Starman
    4. Identity Crisis
    3. Infinite Crisis/52/Countdown
    2. Blackest Night
    1. DCU Universe: Legacies

WOW....The entire great Wolfman/Perez run on NTT....gone. The seminal COIE (and it's ok follow-up Infinite Crisis)...gone. One of the best Legion stories EVER....gone. Starman? Freakin' Starman?....GONE! Even the most recent big seller Blackest Night....gone.

Unbelievable if this is on the mark...Remember how all the money that was spent on 52 issues each of "52" and "Countdown"? Now wasted (although it was pretty much wasted anyway).

The big reveal after Infinite Crisis that the multi-verse was back and all of that build-up? Doesn't matter anymore....

Starman...Perhaps the best finite comic series ever....All undone.

All of those Blackest Night build-up issues and cross-overs? Nevermind all of that...

Poor Len Wein's recent Legacies series...one of DC's BEST series in a longtime....now just $1 bin fodder

If all this comes to pass, I feel extremely ripped off...

The only good thing I see is if Identity Crisis goes away...I feel that is the place where things really started to crumble for the modern day DCU...and it was all just downhill from there.

I always felt like Identity Crisis was a bad rip-off of Golden Age.

6 4 3 and 1 aren't that big of deal, but to wipe out the Starman,Titans and Morrison's JLA run, that all set the tone for the JLA and Titans series and Starman paving the way for the JSA revival, amazing decisions. Crisis on Infinite Earths is no biggie either since its basically been undone since then.

^ IC was the sleazy underbelly side of the DCU....Not the homage to the Silver Age JLA it purported to be....

How about if a comic company retcons away a story/series, then they aren't allowed to sell it anymore?

For example, DC shouldn't be able to sell Starman trades anymore if it doesn't "count"?

              Sounds fair to me.

(Actually, Starman is on my short list of titles to read again. I'm reading Sandman Mystery Theatre and then Starman is probably going to be up next.)
              My Updated Want List:
              Comic book original art
1970s Hulk or Spider-man metal garbage can
              Custom Mego Nexus, Grendel

Have lots of comics and Marvel Legends figures for trades. Thanks!

Personally, I'm looking at DCnU, the reboot or the relaunch or whatever it is to be like the switch from Earth II to Earth I and the multiverse to Post-Crisis. All that stuff happened. This is just another parallel universe five years into the career of this version of the characters.

While DC has said Green Lantern's continuity is basically just continuing. This would be a good time to jettison Emerald Twilight. I don't think you could squeeze all of that into a 5-year period. But who knows.

I'd like to see Crispus Allen and Reynee Montoya returned to the GothaM GYPD and have new or better yet old versions of the Spectre and Question.

Train wreck. It will be somewhat fun to watch though.

Identity Crisis WAS the beginning of the end of the DCU. I respect Meltzer's love for the characters, but he sure had a funny way of showing it. He wrote some nice character bits, but the story was just so...nasty. And the resolution was just lame. Jean Loring? Who cares? But DiDio ate it up. One of the mini-documentaries on the DCU DVDs has him gushing for a half-an-hour about it. It says a lot about what he's let transpire under his watch.

Starman is my favorite comic series EVER. And DC publishing would have probably have been out of business by 1983 if not for New Teen Titans. What a crock.

I now have mixed feeling about the re-launch. Yes it looks like it could be a total train wreck...but it might actually turn out to be a good thing...I don't know.

I'll say one thing though...I'm really digging the main Flash Point title. Issues 1-3 have been pretty darn interesting.

I've been reading it too but to me it just seems like a throwaway Elseworlds mini-series or something that would have been done as a stunt in the Annuals a few years back...I'm not overly impressed with what I'm reading....

Right now, I'm just confused. If they are taking some of the characters back to earlier points in their careers, where does it leave their supporting cast? I'm not upset about potentially losing Identity Crisis - I can do without superhero wives being raped.
