Power Boy is apparently dead now anyway so you won't have to worry about him anymore...

It is unfortunately DC's way of trying to hang on to something they should have given up on after the last Perez/Wolfman incarnation of Titans. Give me the original 60's series with likes of Bob Haney and Nick Cardy or the 1st Perez/Wolfman incarnation of the New Teen Titans...the new junk that DC has been pawning off as the Titans is just drek. It's sad because they've been doing this for years trying to revive older titles to keep the "Old" collectors/readers still buying the new books...because they have no new buyers. A kid these days would rather play a handheld video game than read a book/comic book. It still goes back to pricing and making comics that are kid friendly...neither of which is in the making any time soon.

      Other failed revivals:

Infinity Inc (Ordway, McFarlane and Machlan must be throwing up after they've seen this pile of junk)
The Doom Patrol(2 times if I'm not mistaken)
Dr. Fate (Too many times to list)
      Metal Men (Why??!!??)
Green Lantern (Again, why even bother...It's either Hal Jordan or NO!!! GL)
Spectre (Great 60's run, Great 3rd series run with Ostrander and Mandrake...GOD AWFUL!!! in the other runs)
Batman and the Outsiders (Uggghhhhhh ANOTHER CRAPPY BATMAN TITLE)

And I know there are even more...and the same goes for Marvel. It's a sad state for the comic industry right now.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
      The beauty that surrounds them
      Isn't it a pity".

^^^ The DP revival before Byrne's trainwreck was pretty good, too. As were the Deadman and Suicide Squad redo's from around the same time.

          - Infinity Inc: I didn't even bother to touch this issue. The appearances in "52" were enough to turn me off.
          - Doom Patrol: I liked Grant Morrison's Vertigo-ish take, the rest was blah
          - Dr. Fate: Good team supporting character but obviously not enough there to ever pull off his own series it seems
          - Metal Men: I liked the Dan Jurgens mini from about 14 years ago (which has since been erased from continuity) but the current mini is confusing.
          - GL: I like everything since Rebirth
          - Spectre: Never got into it except for a handful of the Ostrander/Mandrake issues. The Hal Jordan as Spectre was crap.
          - BATO: Had high hopes with Chuck Dixon on board but so far it just looks like he's playing catch-up trying to fix problems from the originally assigned scripter.

I think the character in the Titans book right now are great. I like to see them interact with each other. Great characters imo.

I love the 60's Titans. Everything just seemed so natural between them, and they reflected what their team represented(a bunch of teens hanging out and fighting crime). It's cool to read about a bunch of teenagers going to a rock concert, and eventually ending up in a mission in the jungle with headhunters.

I also really like the 80's Titans as well. I like how each character had a really deep background that reflected their personality. The adventures they got into were pretty cool too. I mean, the Terror of Trigon arc was awesome.

As for the current Titans, there's just something about it that I don't like. It's as if they aren't just a bunch of friends hanging out and fighting crime, but a whirlwind of deaths and chaotic stories that mesh and clash into getting the reader confused. I tried to read the first couple of volumes, but eventually I was getting confused by everything so I gave up. I mean how many additions and deaths does a reader need before they get fed up?

The difference between the 60's/80's Titans and the current ones, is that if I pick a random storyline from any of the eras to read, I would have no clue what the heck was going on in the current version of the Titans. At least with the 60's/80's Titans, you can pick any story you want and follow it from start to end.

Did they ever establish that there was a relationship between Power Boy and Powergirl?

I know Power Boy was on obsessive paramour to Supergirl.

He's from the world of the New Gods right? Partnered with Little Barda?

I think it was a fun plot point to have dozens of throwaway characters moving through the ranks of the Teen Titans during the 52 year, but the result is a bunch of z-grade sidekick/knockoff/derivative characters running around the DCU waiting to be slaughtered during a Crisis or Crossover event.

I mean "Molecule"?! Given the hard time DC has had over the years sustaining Atom as a viable character in the DCU, what good does a derivative teen version do?

I dunno, I like the Hawk & Dove Chicks, as well as the Manhunter babe. Ravenger, Girl Speedy, & Kid Devil are all fantastic character imo.

I like the way Geoff Johns handled these existing characters. Particularly the Kid Devil revamp. He has a real gift for taking someone like Rose Wilson and just making it work.

Johns IS good but it started to feel like a bunch of C-listers on the team. Nothing wrong with 1 or 2 but it started to get a little silly with all of the spin-off characters during OYL. Granted Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl are spin-off characters also but their source is A-list.
