Thoughts? I haven't seen either of the 3 movies so I can't comment. My only reasons for not seeing Thor and Green Lantern is that I have just been too busy this summer. I think the article though misses the mark.
It is all about plot. A movie is as good as the script. Spider-Man worked because it wasn't just about the action but involved the story of the geeky High School kid, love interests, friendships, etc. I do think Robert Downey partially was a big draw for Iron Man but it too had a great plot. I guess I am drawn to the heroes who have some type of character flaw, struggle with it and are able to learn something from it. Star Trek could have been a total bomb but it worked because the characters were interesting beyond the action. The script was well written and that for me makes or breaks any movie.

. X-Men was good but it felt like there was something missing for me. McAvoy and Fassbender were excellent, but a lot of the other characters were under-developed. January Jones just didn't work for me at all either.
