Wednesday trip to the comic shop

I went down to my local comic shop today for the first time in what feels like ages.

The only thing I bought off the racks was Crossed Psychopath #3 and the latest issue of the second Fables Cinderella mini. The rest were all Fear Itself and Flashpoint tie-ins that I really had no interest in by creative teams I don't really follow. I'm reading the main Flash Point and Fear Itself books, but it's a shame that someone who's decided not to read the ancillary tie in books doesn't have much choice from the big two these days (which seems to be much of the Mego Museum Comics board from the sounds of things).

What did you pick up this week?

I just picked up Emperor Aquaman #1. I could have swore the Previews site said this was coming out today, but I guess it came out last week. My local comic book shop sold out of it (!) but fortunately they ordered a few more so I snagged one of the last two copies.

I'm not reading Flashpoint, I'll read it when it's collected in a trade, I like Aquaman so I though I would go ahead and pick this up.

Also about Showcase: Aquaman #2, according to Amazon it's OOP and it's the last one I need of the Aquaman ones. Was holding off hoping I could get a better price than SRP but that doesn't look like it was going to happen. At least I get the satisfaction of supporting my local comic shop.

Looking forward to next week when Rocketeer Adventures #2 comes out. Unless I've misread Previews again......

Invincible really is an amazing superhero book; a lot of it reminds me of the early issues of Spider-man when everything in the Marvel Universe was new and it wasn't overcrowded with super-characters and bogged down by continuity. I look forward to every issue, and the latest one was just fantastic. People love Kirkman's Walking Dead, but Invincible is much more fun to read and a superior book, IMO.

I go during my lunch break at work (and recieve and extended lunch on Wednesdays to do it, so big plus there). Today I picked up Avengers, Teen Titans, Power Girl, Batgirl, Batman and probably the only Flashpoint mini I will follow..Legion of Doom.

I had to work yesterday afternoon. I usually work evenings. So I have to go today. I'm not sure what I'll get. If Batgirl is out then I'll get that. I'm really going to miss Steph Brown.

Nothing in my hold slot and nothing on the rack that interested me. Noticed that my LCS had the Marvel Westerns HC on sale and picked it up.
              Hey! Check out the pictures.
