I knew I'd seen that design somwhere...

It's amazing to see Brett Booth back on a monthly book, but those characters are a little bit too removed from their roots for me to get too excited. Is that really Connor Kent? How exactly does a Kryptonian get a tattoo?

The Red Robin suit would be fantastic if the wings were removed and you add a hooded cape or maybe no cape. The wings just kill it. It works for Falcon, not Tim Drake.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Well, honestly, the name Red Robin is just dumb. It worked okay in a one-shot mini like Kingdom Come, but it's like saying "Blue Batman" or "Red Captain Marvel" it's just redundantly lame. And it makes you want to say "YUMMMMMM" ever time you hear it.

Poor Tim deserved so much better. He's really gotten the shaft in all of this Morrison nonsense.

Bart's new costume is horrendous too. The elegant designs of guys like Carmine Infantino and Gil Kane are lost on most of today's artists, apparently.

When did they bring back Northwind? And wasn't he black? Just a little joke about the new costume.

                      >today's artists could stand to learn the "Keep it simple..stupid" mantra

WAAAAYYYY back in the day I remember eading an interview with J. Quagmire, where he mentioned using simpler designs 'cos you're gonna be drawing them thousands of times and you don't want to spend time fidgeting with detail, or trying to remember the little bits. Maybe that's one reason modern guys are so slow? But there are design bits that carry through different eras. In the 90's it was pouches and shoulder pads. Currently it seems to be extraneous padding. All the extra stuff tends to look awkward, and brings up questions: such as, what DOES he have in all those pouches?

I agree that the simpler designs are usually much better; especially if you're gonna just end up going the "spraypainted nekkidguy" route with the outfits anyhoo.

                      >it's like saying "Blue Batman" or "Red Captain Marvel" it's just redundantly lame

                      Red Superman! BLUE Superman! WOOOOO!!!!!

                      >I was thinking The Secret and Empress from Peter David's Young Justice

                      Wait.... is that L'il Lobo?!?!?!
