a "son of the Demon" showed up in Kingdom Come as well. Pesonally I'm glad someone picked up on Batman's fling with Talia.

I am Actually Not Upset over Damian .
I like the Character, .. when He showed up in Teen Titans. I get the Idea of him being a Jerk ... Lots of kids in the Family.
I just hate Dick as Batman .... and the Kinda Throwing Tim over here, and there to make room for the character.

... Seems like readers Everywhere are paying the price for Bruce's "Batarang" Mistakes of love.

Actually surprised Damian's the only kid floating around, papa was a rolling stone. I knew eventually Dick would go back or quit or whatever. Am looking forward to the father/son stories. I can't think of another sidekick that was a son, usually it was a nephew or some poor orphan kid.

You would actually place Morrison's Batman over Frank Miller's Year One Batman? I only have to assume you're joking.

Morrison's Batman is the best version of the character since Adams & O'Neil. It's just that simple.
            Engelhart and Rogers?
            Grant and Breyfogle?
            Barr and Davis?
            Chuck Dixon?
            Jim Aparo?

I must be overly-complicated, because I'm not getting simple here.

To me, Damien is like the kid in Superman Returns. Good idea for a one-shot, but not for an ongoing story. The idea of Batman and Talia's kid being out there somewhere is more powerful than bringing him in as psycho killing machine, and then saying "okay, now you're Robin". I don't think I'd mind the character as much if Morrison and company hadn't just had Dick overlook his psychosis and put him in the costume. Does he not remember Jason Todd? Jean Paul Valley? Heck, Danny Chase!

I appreciate Morrison's "mad genius". He's come out of left field on most of this stuff. But the application, and the permanence of it is what I don't like, and I just can't get into.

There's always a fail-safe they could use with Damian...Could he possibly be a clone of Bruce created by Ra's Al Ghul to f'with him and not an actual son?

^Yeah, that'd be a good "out". I can imagine him dissolving into a pile of goo or something. Maybe Morrison will do that in homage to the demise of the Super-Sons by Denny O'Neil.

I know my opinion is in the minority, but I'm just not a big Morrison fan. He's done some good stuff, but I think it's mainly high concepts over solid writing. Maybe I'm just too obtuse to get all of the concepts.

^It's not just you. I agree with that statement 100%. He needs a strong editorial hand to rein him in on mainstream books, and there apparently isn't any.

Exactly, Year One was a FOUR ISSUE SERIES. A good one, but still just four issues. And the last time Miller did anything meaningful with the character. It did manage to suck all the fun out of Batman comics and made them all gloom and doom, grim and gritty predictable.
