The Patrol before Byrne's abomination was pretty good, had a bit of the Morrison vibe to it.

      >it's such an outdated sounding title that I'm really surprised they're using it again

True; but I can see them maybe testing the waters for that kind of feel, given the large number of 40-somethings who lament the kinder, gentler days. (A group who would be well served by Earth-Checks I must add.) Or maybe they're gonna use it in an ironic, emo way? Or maybe it was somebody's favourite book when they were a kid? Hell; the way editors work they coulda just pulled it out of a hat.

I also wonder if they are reusing the old titles to keep the copyright.

How many titles has the Doom Patrol had in the last 10 years? I think they should be put aside for a bit until the stink dies off of all the cancellations.

The one before Byrne's got cancelled to make room for his book, which fell on its face. The current one was ok, but I've lost track of monthlies so didn't even know it got canned. after the Vertigo one ended its been 3 tries to get it back going.

didn't know Vigilante was confirmed. With Cooke involved I'm guessing its the cowboy version.

Darwyn Cooke Vigilanted is the first book listed I'd buy! I'd be all over that, if it's Greg Sanders.

Really? Doesn't DiDio have enough on his plate screwing things up already that he's now going to be scripting a monthly? How long before this gets handed over to Giffen entirely and then winds up cancelled altogether and in the $1.00 bins?

And is it the Kirby version or the "52" version?

OK, with today's additions of Suicide Squad, Blue Beetle, Rock, All Star Western, Blackhawks, Stormwatch, and Deathstroke that kinda blows that list posted yesterday. Some of that stuff must not be happeneing.
