So who is going to see X-Men 1st Class

I've been really aware of the posters everywhere for this film and in the UK it starts tomorrow (1st June), but I have never been less excited to see a Marvel character movie (well with the exception of Electra ). I guess i'll see it, just because and that's the problem. Who is gagging to see this movie on the first day?

From the ads it looks.... okay, but they juggled the story up pretty seriously and that kinda throws me. (So.... Emma AND Magneto were part of the original team? As well as not-Nightcrawler? And Angel is a pixie now?) Tying everything into one origin like that makes the world a LOT smaller, and I think that does a disservice to a superhero story since the history is a part of the draw.

Looks great from the trailers, nice to finally see a period piece Marvel superhero movie. BTW, the "pixie" Angel was from the Morrison XMen run, nice to see them using different characters and nice to see no Wolverine.

I've heard nothing but good things about this. If it had been out this weekend, I would have jumped on it. I guess I am going to see this on opening night. As long as grandma will watch the kids!

Well, first I'm going to totally throw continuity out the window....then try and watch it with an open mind. Nothing could be worse than X-3 & Wolverine.

Plus, Mathew Vaughn is a good Director and they have a good cast. So, I'll be seeing it.

In my opinion, X-Men is one of a very few comic properties that can take advantage of expanding it's cast while maintaining some decisive time line with the original films. I'm definitely interested in seeing this movie and will be attending opening weekend. BTW, I went into my local comic book shop over the weekend and they handed out free passes to the Green Lantern movie. You might want to check your local comic store to see if their doing that as well.

This is getting little to no buzz among geekdom, but the trailer and commercials look impressive. I will probably see it before the summer is out.

They have really been pushing the online marketing of this one lately... So much that I almost feel like I've already seen most of the film.

Initially this seemed to have very little going for it, no tentpole characters to appeal to the fan base, but that might actually be it's greatest strength if they are trying to tiptoe through the continuity of four other x films.

Vaugn and co are free to take these lower tier characters and craft something without the demands and expectations Thor, cap and green lantern can't possibly live up to.

It's become the one I'm looking forward to the most.

I think I'm going to take a wait and see attitude. I really only have the opportunity to see a couple of movie at the theater per year due to my kids activities.

I haven't even seen Thor yet, Green Lantern, and Cap right on the heels.

I like the idea that I have to ignore everything (almost) I've read in the comics which will make the movie somewhat unpredictable for me. I HATED X3 and Wolverine and for the longest time I was saying I refuse to see any more X movies. But something about this seems really interesting. I'll be there Friday afternoon for the first showing.

Just saw Kevin Bacon plugging this on Regis and Kelly. I'm not an X-Men fan, but I like Kevin Bacon.

I'm not an X Men fan but I honestly think this may be one of the better Superhero flicks of the summer, it'll likely gain more of a following on video. That's likely where I'll see it, movies are tough for me these days.

I found the last two outing (X3 and Wolverine) absolute low points in the genre/
