I always thought that was pretty funny.

The two fishes in the S emblem are a Byrne in joke because he always said that's how he always saw the Superman emblem; as two yellow fish swimming in opposite directions.

^That's funny. When I was a wee lad, that's what I saw too!!! In fact, despite my artistic bent even at that age, it took me years until I really saw the "S" every time I looked at the symbol, and not the fish!

When I first bought that "What The!?!" I felt somewhat vindicated.

I can't even remember which issue of What The?! this appeared in.

But I do love it when creative teams lampoon their own stuff. Terrific to get the Byrne/Ordway team on a crossover of the two comics that they made their big mark on.

Also love the Kirby/Lee Not Brand Ecchh parodies. Marie Severin lampooning Hulk is also always appreciated a great deal.

Byrne actually had a real gift of the funny that he so rarely let's fly.

His British Superman with John Cleese, Muppets, and even his run on Funky Winkerbean(!?)
