THOR Nears A Worldwide Box Office Total Of $400 Million!

That's not bad for what is essentially a 2nd tier Marve character

That's impressive. I think it's safe to say we will see a Thor sequel, in addition to him and Loki playing heavily in The Avengers.

My son and I have a standing deal that we won't see superhero movies with anyone else. He's been with his mother the last 2 weekends so we finally got to see it yesterday. Very impressed with the adaptation as a whole. Good story and enough action to keep us going. It's gonna be a good summer!

All in all, I liked it... From the opening sequences, I thought it was going to be a tad too much like 'Lord of the Rings', but it improved quite a bit. (sorry.., not a LOTR fan).

Nice placement of humor, and as someone else noted, I liked the flying sequences (seemed very Kirbyesque).

                The Asgard scenes were fantastic.

                The town scenes...not so much.

Right Hector, the town scenes had that cheap General Zod/Superman II feeling to it.

I loved the "fish out of water" approach given to Thor while he was on earth. That was just classic cinema.

I really liked it. Thought Anthony Hopkins was the best choice for Odin. He really put his stamp on it. His presence made the film feel Shakesperian which is an element of the original comic as well.

Second tier.... "Prepares to swing hammer". Honestly I'm gratified to see my favorite and much disrespeted comic hero get his props. Now I need some of that cash.

All three major players were perfectly cast...Thor, Odin...and Loki...

Your right Hec. I'm not slighting the other actors but it seemed to me Anthony Hopkins was the glue that held the family together, y'know? All around excellent performances.
