    I'm glad that they are giving Batman a little challenge in his movie and I am also happy they are not using pansy villains like the Riddler or even the Penguin.

    Now someone mentioned a Man-Bat movie. Since we are not allowed to converse on here, I think a Man-Bat as a character would be awesome if it has been done or wrote by a good writer. The trick is the way to present a character like Man Bat;

    Now when you get some villian like the Riddler, writers always go for the looney, looney two shoes type Jim Carey humor.

    If you are a real Batman reader (comic books). When it comes to movies, all you will probably ever see Riddler is not like his true self. You just wind up with a bunch of idiots like Jim Carey trying to act like Gorshin.

    Good job for Frank Gorshin for giving the Riddler some personality and that is what you will always get in the movies now thanks to him.

    Frank was the master at developing what the writers of that time thought was a "boring character" and so he added his twiste to it. Honestly today, I'd like to see Riddler played his dark and syntactical comic book self.

    I am for Batman having a pumped up guy like Venom (possibly breaking his back)....maybe taking a little storyline from the comics, but that will be hard without Dick Grayson and Tim Drake not being there so anything is possible with the writers. Doesn't sound like this director wants Batman to have a side kick at all.

    With Bane, I would bet they will play on the "lost brother" story idea that was hinted at awhile ago. Not sure if they played on that or not but giving Bane redemption since that horrible Joel Shumacher movie is a good start.
    Next would be to take that heavy gold cane of Riddlers and smash Jim Carey in the head with it. I hate that guy (I apologize to any of his fans on here, not trying to be a jerk to you...don't like him.)

    Just my two cents.

      Hardy's height doesn't bother me, he was a BAD ARSE in Bronson. Just like I LOVE Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and he's 6'4". Hardly the correct stature for the comic book version of Wolverine.
      Maybe, Hardy should played Wolverine and Jackman should have bulked up to be Bane lol. You're point is excellent.Maybe Hardy will be so good in the role, he'll make me forget he's an average-sized dude, kinda of like Stallone and Mr. T in Rocky.

      Nolan and his crew are masters at effects that don't LOOK like effects. It's hard to say how they will handle Bane on screen. I trust them.
      That's what I was alluding to when I wrote "Nolan's extremely creative and skilled and he will likely make this work better than I can imagine." Nolan uses some CGI, to enhance the practical effects, but prefers to have the effects play out on screen if at all possible. I admire that. It lends an authenticity to his movies that a flim like Green Lantern — even though I think it looks like it will be really cool — will likely lack because of the extensive use of blue screen.

      The photo released is proof of that skill. With the focus basically on Hardy's shoulders and back and no other person in the shot, Hardy leaves a huge impression in the photo, particularly at first glance. But if you look at his arms, while well muscled, they aren't that big. There is no way to judge his height.

      Whatever Nolan does with Bane, I'm confident it'll work in the context of the film. He's built a world in his adaption of Batman that works better from top to bottom than any other adaption of a super hero comic through two films, IMO.

            Something to consider about Bane. He's only ridiculously bulked up because of the Venom ('Roids). That's what's being injected in via all those tubes attached to him.

            Pre Venom...

            After...

            I'd say Nolan would take the subtler approach than to just Hulk him up. Whatever his choices are, he's earned my trust over the course of the previous two movies. Whatever liberties he taking with Bane, I've never really cared that much for the character anyways so sky's the limit here. He could be spouting riddles and holding a golden question mark cane in the previews and I'll still go see it.
