It's just strange seeing some of the artists from back in the day that are dying. I just never think of guys like Kaluta, Vess, Jones, or others of that era being old.

I met Jeff Jones at one of the 1st Big Apple Nationals in NYC a few years back. Definitely a strange experience. I was expecting this tall guy and when I went to get the autograph there was a woman saying that she was Jeff Jones. As strange as that may have been...he was one of THE Fantasy painters of his generation. Right up there with Frazetta and Boris. RIP.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".

Frazetta said Jones was "the greatest living painter." I know what you mean about seeing them die, too. When Big John Buscema died, it really broke my heart and I'd never met the man.

Sad to hear. Jones was an influence on my work as a teen I use to copy his Illustrations. I still have them to this day. I loved his I'm Age that appeared in Heavy Metal.

She was incredibly talented and hugely influential to a generation of artists of that era.

I didn't realize that Jeffrey Jones was married to Louise Jones (now Simonson) who edited the Warren Magazines back in the day.

I had no idea that Jeffery Jones switched genders. I did know he was married to Louise Simonson at one point. "Weezie" was the model for the lady in the very first Swamp Thing story (and Kaluta was the bad guy). Bernie Wrightson has said the him and all his studio-mates were in love with her.

Fantastic artist...what else is there to say?

She was apparently sitting beside husband Walt at the banquet scene of the Thor movie.
