I'll see if it's out tomorrow...if I can read just the main Flashpoint mini-series without any additional crossovers and nonsense then I might get it

meh. Wasn't impressed. Poor Barry comes back from the dead and this is the crap he's saddled with? More time travelling confusion? Why couldn't he get a treatment like Hal Jordan got?

Makes me fear for Johns' Aquaman revival

The reveal at the end and who the narrator of the story is was a surprise and interesting. Sets up an interesting dilemma. Will he want to help Barry correct the time stream or stop him from doing it.

The fact that Barry doesn't have his powers was kind of a bummer, but I'm sure he'll get them at the appropriate time.

I thought it was interesting the sway Batman holds on the other super-powered beings. I've also always liked the golden-age Sandman so it was nice to see him.

Although the Shazam kids may be a nice idea for an alternate time line/universe, I hope that idea doesn't stick when all of this is done. But did like the scars Diana left on Captain Thunder's face.

But the most interesting thing in the book was the Atlantis-Themyscira War. Most of the character seem scared of Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

                Why ?
Flash has stunk it up since Barry returned in Final Crisis.
... The Aquaman Blackest Night & Brighest Day stuff was good ...

I might check it out, or some of it.
Jurgens returns to Booster Gold this week, ... and it's got some stuff to do with Flash Point.

I love Elseworld/ Time Stream Tales...., But dislike Barry As the Flash. So, I dunno.

When Johns revived GL, he went for a straight forward storyline at first, and the massive story arcs came later, sorta evolving into it. Then all the spin-off titles, extra GLs, etc. came out of that, and were successful.

Flash came back AS convoluted story arcs, instead of re-establishing the line. I'm all in favor of a Flash family of titles just like the GLs, but instead DC has chosen to use Flash as the turning point for screwing with the DCU. I like time travel stories as well, happy to see Jurgens back on Booster Gold which was a great title under him. But I'm not happy to see Flash used...this is the SECOND relaunch of the title in the past few years, and I don't believe that Didio & Johns planned either series to run 12 issues. If the Bart series had sold it would be running instead of the stillborn mess it was. Ditto this version of the Barry series. And seriously, after a year or more of Bruce Wayne time travel stories, they decide to muck with it even more? Same with the Marvel Family- DC has no clue how to deal with them or present them, and this is just one more try at "reinventing" the wheel. Like they did with The Atom, the Creeper, Martian Manhunter.

As for Aquaman, my fear is more of this. If Johns brings him back as the catalyst for a linewide event, then I don't think he will survive the return either. I did like the Brightest Day Aquaman storyline, it was really the only good storyline of the series. But do you really want to see Aquaman revived in the middle of some Atlantis- Surface world war with a 50 issue crossover? Or would you rather see him brought back as a solid character in a solid containred title that will sell on it's own merits instead of as a need-to-buy event title as they did with Flash?

I think it's sad that they went through all the effort to revive Aquaman & Deadman in Brightest Day, and their next major exposure is as something COMPLETELY different in this Flashpoint series. How confusing & disappointing for new readers that picked up on the characters from the BD series.

Look at how they've screwed & re-screwed Hawkman & Hawkgirl. And the JSA. And the JLA. And the Teen Titans. All of those series started solidly, restablishing them as good solid characters & teams. Now we have a JLA of ex-Teen Titans & fourth string characters, a JSA of I dunno what, and the Hawks? Fuggedaboudit, they're comic-book poison again.

My feeling on all of this is that DC is killing time until the GREAT & POWERFUL Grant Morrison is ready to FIX the DCU again, like he did in Final Crisis. I'll pass on most all of this, as they hooked me for enough cash back in 52 & countdown for comics that are lining the quarter bins now. Anything that looks interesting I'll pick up then.

Dan Didio is a meddler and needs to keep his fingers out of the books!

I believe the term is "radioactive" You need a hazmat suit to get around Hawkman's convulted history!
