I heard of this. Sounds pretty made up to me. Kind of like Infantino's later day claims of his creating "Captain Whiz and the Colors of Evil" before he got the Silver Age Flash assignment.

yeah, there is a lot of evidence showing that Kane was a hack, but this batman looks nothing like Kane's original. He might have lifted the name from there.

It is widely known in the Comic Book industry that the design of Batman actually comes from Bill Finger who never got credit for it. He redesigned the character to look more like a bat after Bob Kane had shown him a character drawing that looked like a purple or red colored Zorro. Kane quickly got his lawyers to protect his credit as "creator", ( which I never understood since DC owns the character), leaving poor Bill Finger out in the cold.

I read they have a saying that people use when a writer or artist is being mis-treated by the publisher, " I feel like Im getting Finger-ed but I'm not Bill Finger!"

I remember seeing an interview with Kane and he went over how he got the Ideas for Batman. Basically taking from all kind of sources and Making Batman.Kane was smart to get writers and other artist to continue what he started.

In the Collected dailies he says He wanted to do Newspaper strips and did a lot of the artwork, he felt that the strips were the Big leagues which they were at the time and Comics were bush league.

When the strip stopped he went back to doing comics until he retired in the late 60's.

I honestly don't think he took from this guy....and even if he did Kane and all the People who worked for him did far better than this guy would have done.
