Besides the anatomy problems, I always thought Liefield draws the same face on every character. Everyone looks alike.

I have to wonder if the early work Liefeld was doing was being corrected by the inker, and later, I imagine the inker was told to ink it as he saw it, or Liefeld inked himself. The weird sketchy lines don't bother me as much as the wacky anatomy and horrible perspective.
I actually feel bad for Liefeld in a way because everyone that talks about him says how much he loved comics and creating comics, but no one will hire him because he is so hated, even probably blackballed.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

^^^ He keeps getting work at Marvel. If the guy loved comics so much, you think he'd learn how to draw them.

It is truly amazing how this guy still manages to get work. He's one of the most godawful artists ever to have unfortunately graced comics!
I have to admit to getting to like Frank Quitely though, his art on All Star Superman is pretty good IMO.Last edited by Surfsup; Dec 6, '07, 11:58 AM.Comment

I had no idea he had Marvel work, I haven't read Marvel in years. To all of you Marvel readers: I'm really sorry they are giving Rob work!Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

I can personally say his work dosen't bother me as much as Mike Mingola's and Keith Giffen's work does, it actually hurts my eyes. Those guys are awesome writers and Mingola did some amazing Hulk comics in 84-86 I believe, plus he did an awesome Wolverine story, "Jungle Adventure",
but for the most part.........IT SUCKS IMO!sigpic

The Onslaught reborn stuff was awful...there was a picture of the thing leaping off a building (or something) a big Rob "I'm good at drawing" Liefeld one panel page that was truely, truely ****e...really bad...it looked rushed and unfinished, or at the very least like he was only doing this mag for the money. I think that if you are an artist of any medium if your heart isn't in it it shows through ...and this did big time.ENGLISH AND DAMN PROUD OF ITBritish by birth....English by the grace of God.
Yes Jamie...it is big isn't it....

I can honestly say I have never seen those words in that order anywhere. Points for originality.

Hmmmm....
I find it funny how many folks are dissing him NOW; but when he was "it" criticizing would get you killed.... well.... GLARED at by a bunch of nerds, actually. But you get the idea. Even on the site with the pics; these came from SOMEWHERE. Probably the author's collection.
"One day you're a hero... next day you're a clown...." Sometimes I read these reviews and wonder if one of these guys was someone I wanted to choke the life out of when I worked at the comic shop....
