I know hardly anything about this Marvel stuff... but isn't Power Man
currently an Avenger?
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
I'm not sure that dude was anyone to be honest. Don't forget Thor had human strength in that scene also regarding Power Man, Idris Elba who played Heimdall has already expressed a interest in playing him.
I saw it today with the boy. What a great movie!!! I expected to like it, but it went far beyond my expectations. The casting was perfect. The fantastical elements were extravagant enough, but still believable within the context of the Marvel movie-verse. Loved the little nods to other Marvel characters, like Bruce Banner, and dropping Stark's name when The Destroyer showed up.
Hemsworth really sold the character. Loved all of the classic Thor tricks they captured. Spinning the hammer, the throwing, flying...
As for the cosmic cube, didn't the earliest pics of Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull come with a description about "raiding Odin's tomb" or some such? So maybe the Cosmic Cube is an Asgardian artifact in this universe. Wasn't it created by AIM in the comics?
Either way, I'm stoked. We went late afternoon to see it, so our theater was pretty bare. When the credits rolled I told folks that there was a scene at the end. One family stayed. They quizzed me on who the Avengers were. My son filled them in before I had a chance to exhale.
