Am I the only comic reader who really doesn't care one little bit for this Guy? The only Hawkman book I ever purchased was the reboot with Jan Durscema and the cool black battle suit. Maybe I was drawn into it with the gold foil cover. He's a classic character for sure, I just have no love for him. Maybe I missed something along the way?
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

^ The James Robinson/Geoff Johns revival/reboot was really good. And I would also suggest the original Gardner Fox/Joe Kubert stories. Everything else though has been crappy and confusing. Tim Truman's Hawkworld mini-series was a nice revisionist take but it really opened a can of worms that DC hasn't really been able to keep fixed since then....

I think all the eyes are of the writers that have mucked with Hawkman all through the years. So I'm not really sure he can see the evil.

You're not alone. He doesn't capture my interest at all. He's cool looking and the DCUC figure of him is one of the best figures in the line, but I'm not a fan of the character.

I came to love Hawkgirl because of the JL cartoon though. She's pretty awesome.

I dig him visually but he works better in a team book rather than on his own. Although I still love to this day Hawkworld....

Hawkman is a lot like Aquaman in that he has a lot of unrealized potential, plus an awesome visual. I just read TwoMorrow's Hawkman Companion, and man, his publishing history is even more jacked-up than I realized.

I was into "Shadow War" at the time, and followed it into the monthly. The monthly quickly lost it's teeth due to editorial interference and Isabella leaving.

I really liked Robinson/Johns/Morales' run. Too bad that book got off track so quickly.

Tim Truman's Hawkworld could have been terrific if they had just used it as a Batman Year 1 type situation rather than a Wonder Woman or Superman full reboot.

I really dig John Ostrander's stuff from that era (Spectre, Firestorm and Suicide Squad), but they really dropped the ball on the Hawkworld ongoing.

I think that was the problem with the run by Johns and co as well... they could have just left well enough alone, but the clunkiest parts of that is where they felt some unnecessary need to address the Hawkworld Hawkwoman and continuity.

The best scenario I've seen is the JLU cartoon where it was just getting good with the introduction of the archeologist/reincarnated prince Hawkman and the outer space cop Hawkwoman.

Void Indigo began life as a Hawkman proposal in place of Shadow War, and I really think the contemporary stuff reconciling the reincarnated egyptian prince with the space cop owes a great deal to this short lived graphic novel/Epic series.
