Looks ok...kinda like the Scorpion King...

He looks the part, but he doesn't sound the part. His vocal dialect sounds like a normal Joe you would bump into on the street. Not my first impression of Conan the Barbarian. I think this is eye candy, but no more.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

He DOES look like Frazetta's Conan...he has the look...especially that protruding forehead...lol...no doubt.

But you are so dead on...that voice of his kinda kills it...he sounds like a Wall Street guy...lol.

I want a mean and baddass sounding Conan.

But then again...Arnold's accent and voice was not the greatest either...lol.

Looks like an HBO movie.....he has Hair band Hair.... wait add round glasses and a top hat and it's Slash from GNR....I think I'll pass.....

When I first saw the trailer for The Scorpion King, I thought it might have been a Conan movie. The Rock really looked the part. Anyway, I hope it's good. I love the character and am hoping for the best. I like the guy well enough, but a slight brogue and a bit shorter hair would have been more accurate, IMO.

Quite disappointed they didn't put blue contacts on him.
One of the things Robert E. Howard stressed in the Conan stories was that Conan had piercing blue eyes.

Still... it probably won't end up being the worst REH adaptation.

i didn't care fr the scorpion king -so i hope it isn't like it. i don't think it will be.

as far as look, i agree it is good

for voice- i think it is ok.

i think this will be hard to love because the de laurentis conan movie was so good (though the sequels failed to meet the mark) - and I thought arnold's accent and delivery were perfect for a nomadic warrior in old world. -it is truly one of the greates comic adaptions to date. arnold is as much the character as reeve is superman. you see how well the new superman did. batman did not have that problem because though keaton was great -he is not the embodiment of the character.

All this 3D stuff though! It's going overboard a bit. I know about three people who can't sit through a 3D movie because it causes nausea and vertigo.

He has the look from the neck up but remember Conan was massive. It's about as hard to fill Arnold's Conan boots as it was for anyone to fill Reeve's Superman boots. I doubt it can be done. I'll catch this when it comes out on DVD.

Trailer editors DO know that different shots can be put together with out black frames separating them, right? Or is D. W. Griffith editing them all now?
