What are your B.O. predictions for the big three?

Of Thor, Green Lantern, and Captain America, who do you think will come out on top, and why?

I think the death of Osama bin Laden has sparked a renewed sense of patriotism which may help boost Cap's success.

Thor seems to be tracking really well...I don't know what to make of Green Lantern. Seems like it could be a little too out there for the mainstream audience.

    What's everyone else's opinion?

Green Lantern could very well benefit from tweener influence, specifically amongst girls believe it or not. There are rumblings in my house for example about how "beautiful" Ryan Reynolds is...my daughter is 15 and apparently she and her friends are viewing him as a 2nd to Robert Pattison of "Twilight"....So if GL can grab some of their dollars at the box office (and these are the kids that go to repeated showings if they like a flick) then it might do extremely well.

I told her she can't go until she learns the GL Oath....

My 9 year old son taught my 3 year old daughter the oath over the weekend. It's cute to hear her say it. It started out as "Green Lantern's BITE!".

I think GL is going to be the big one. I think Thor will do well, especially with so little competition out there, and it looks good. The ties to Iron Man will help it too.

GL's concept is just cool and fresh to the general public. It looks like they translated it REALLY well.

Captain America looks well done and will do well. The added jolt of patriotism may indeed help it, but then again that's in July, and you know how fickle the public is.

Out of the three of them, Green Lantern strikes me as the most likely to use deodorant and cologne. He's a ladies man after all. I'm assuming a norse god like Thor probably does not have access to body sprays and the like on asgard, but he does live in a big castle, so I'm thinking that after a hard day of fighting Frost Giants, he'd likely bathe before vicotry feasting. Cap on the other hand is a soldier in World War 2, and I would assume showers for grunts were few and far between when you were in europe busy punching nazis day in and day out.

So Cap would be the most likely of the three to suffer from BO.

I think all 3 will do well but my bet is on GL. you know I wear a lot of comic book tshirts and the one that I always get comments on from all age groups is the Green lantern emblem. People do know this character and the movie will appeal to the masses for a lot of different reasons

They will all do well, like all these movies do... They don't make them because they bomb.

Captain America has the shortest window to make money because of its July 22 opening date. You have to wonder if the general audiences will be weary of super hero films by that point. If it opened tomorrow instead of Thor, I would pick Cap No. 1 for sure. But I'm guessing by mid July the patriotism factor will be back to a more normal level, barring some other real-life event stoking the fires again.

Thor is getting great buzz and good reviews and is in that early May slot that was so good to the first 2 X-Men films, the first Spider-Man flick and Iron Man. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Green Lantern is hard to call. Will the general audience (teens and 20s) find it cool or silly? I could see it going either way. Reynolds is a likable star. Warners seems to really feel it's going to hit. But sinking $9 million more into it to make sure the effects are just right can be seen as a good or bad omen. There is a ton riding on this film for Warners/DC proposed super-hero tentpole plan and the studio's expectation for the characters to replace Harry Potter as a cash cow.

I hope all three of them outperform Transformers and Pirates.

                I'm picking:
                1. GL
                2. Thor
                3. Captain America

But I think a good argument could be mad for any order.

UPDATE: After watching this — New GL trailer — I feel better about my No. 1 choice.

I almost went with that joke. But you executed it better than I would have!

I think based on the reviews already, Thor could be the front runner. With GL, my worry is Ryan Reynolds might make GL too corny. Cap also looks promising, can't wait for agent Smith as the Red Skull

And another thing with Reynolds, his track record with comic book movies isn't something to brag about.

I don't know which one will be the biggest box office draw.

But on a personal level...I'm more stoked to see both Thor and Captain America.

I was never a big Green Lantern fan...plus I HATE Ryan Reynolds.

GL to me has the kind of mass appeal Iron Man did plus Ryan Reynolds love him or hate him is a big name star.
Thor juts looks cool and I know people excited about about.
Cap is easily last in this bunch.
