so - what is the Smallville spin off series?

here is what i think is most likely to least likely

    Justice League
    Blue Beetle / Booster Gold
    Justice Society
    Green Arrow
    Metropolis
    Legion of Superheroes
    Superboy
    Teen Titannish
    Hawkman
    Supergirl
another hero from the show? Aquaman, Impulse...
another hero not from the show?
revisit the bruce wayne show they abandoned?
    Superman
    nothing

more than one show? see what sticks?

I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't try to spin off Green Arrow prior to the series ending. He was on the show what, four years?

What's interesting now is that there will be an entire generation of kids (and I'm assuming new mythos in the comic books eventually) that will think Superman/Green Arrow as an unlikely buddy duo in the same way we think Green Lantern/Green Arrow or Batman/Superman.

Given how much I liked the Booster/Beetle episode, I'd actually love to see them take another shot at a Justice League International series, but I'm just weird that way.

Yeah, I'm surprised as well. When Green Arrow was added to the show...the ratings went up. Why doesn't Warner Brother remember that?

I don't think there will be a spin-off...We'll just have to wait and see if "Wonder Woman" gets picked up for a DC TV fix...

It seems a no-brainer to spin-off SOMETHING from Smallville, with Green Arrow being the most likely candidate. A GA series, with rotating guest heroes culled from Smallville and the occasional new one thrown in would be great.

The CW has so many solid hits, they don't need no stinkin' Smallville fans!!! (sarcasm)

Given that the producers were working on getting Starman greenlit at one point, I am really surprised that there was never any Jack Knight appearances that might have served as a backdoor pilot.

Perhaps the roadblock is the Green Arrow actor himself? Although he was signed on for Aquaman/Mercy Reef prior to Smallville.

And remember how Birds of Prey debuted with some of the best numbers ever for the Warner network? Even more of a shame that it sank like a rock given everything it had going for it off the launchpad.

Being a Green Arrow fan, I would like to see Green Arrow get his own show. Maybe give him a real bow instead of that goofy *** cross bow.

I would love to see a smallville spin off but I dont think it's a good time to try a spinoff because the ratings will be low with CBS rebooting Wonderwoman and all. I personally would like to see a Superboy/Teen titans spinoff with Cass and the nag but with young justice out that prob won't happen either :(

I'm voting for a GA spin-off as well. Something with him and Chloe going across the country looking for people with super powers.

If there's going to be a spinoff, it won't this fall. We would have already heard something about it by now. CW might be able to get something running in time for next January or February, but not fall. Maybe if NBC doesn't pick up Wonder Woman, CW might take it, but I imagine a NBC series has a much larger budget than a CW one would.

That being said, Green Arrow would be the obvious choice if one were to happen and I think it could work well. You would have action, but not nearly as many effects as Smallville.

If the producers could get scripts as good as Johns' one was for the Booster episode, I'd like to see something like that, but it might get old week after week.

I think a John Jones series with emphasis on his detective work would be cool. slam Bradley could be his partner like in New Frontier.

Not a spinoff, but weren't they going to make a Raven show? Dark mysterious magic girl and then they could guest the titans.

^I'd forgotten about the Raven show. I haven't heard anything about it in a long time.

I'm still scratching my head wondering why John Jones hasn't appeared in this last season. Practically everyone else has.

So Smallville "spin-offs" that at one time in the works were...

Aquaman/Mercy Reef (which made it to pilot)

Grayson (the story of pre-Robin Dick Grayson)

                        Starman

                        Raven

and of course Birds of Prey, which made it through half a season.

Oh yeah! It was actually pre-Smallville. They went with Superman when they couldn't get Bats.

Raven would have been obvious since it could have picked up the Charmed crowd after that series ended.

Call it Watchtower, and rotate and intermix the established heroes and new ones throughout the year, aka Justice League / Teen Titans 90210. Keep Ms. Tessmacher, I mean Tess Mercer, Emil Hamilton and Oliver Queen and possibly even Arthur Curry (less frequently) as the mentors, and the Daily Planet, Watchtower and the Justice Society as sets.

Characters to draw from... Kara Kent, Connor Kent, John Jones, General Lane, Perry White, Braniac, Bart Allan, the Suicide Squad, Zatanna, Black Canary (especially if you keep Ollie and lose Chloe), Cyborg, Slade, etc.

and of course, each of the new heroes would have their rogues galleries to draw from. Every so often, you might tease glimpses of Supes, or even guest appearances from Clark, Lois, even Lex.

                              OR

Do what I've said they needed to do years ago, rename it Metropolis (they already moved there on the show) and just continue with Tom Welling in the suit. Pay Michael Rosenbaum a crapload of money to reprise Lex regularly again. Problem solved.
