    Avengers Prime

Just got around to reading Avengers Prime. If you enjoy Thor, Cap and Iron-man or Alan Davis art or medieval super-hero throwdowns, you might give this series a look. Don't know if its been collected yet, but this was fun.

Davis' art was fantastic and it was the most action-packed Bendis-authored Avengers tale that I've read in awhile or at all.

    Really fun series.

It's funny... Hitch was always such a Davis clone in the early days of marvel uk, but now I'm kind of thinking I'm seeing some of hitch's wide screen sensibilities indavis' latest stuff. Or maybe it's the inker?

Iron Man is back in the "classic" armor?

Alan Davis can do no wrong in my book. Well, the only wrong he's ever done is not stay on Batman longer than he did.

Just for the duration of time leading up to and immediately following Siege.

Basically Tony experienced the reverse "Flowers for Algernon" where he had to erase his mind because it contained the Superhero registration database, rather than having it fall into the hands of Norman Osborn.

The dumber he got, the less he was able to pilot the more advanced armours... it was kind of a fun storyline where we got to see Tony wearing all the old suits over a few months, culminating in the classic silver age suit.

It was really fun seeing it back in action.

I'd really recommend the collected edition of World's Most Wanter for those that thought Tony was too big of a jerk during Civil War and the aftermath.

Not only do you get to see the old armours and Tony redeem himself, a Gwyneth Paltrow style Pepper Potts gets to put on her Rescue armour! (although for the life of me I can't figure out why they are so resistant on calling her Iron Maiden)

It all makes sense from a character POV as well... Rescue/Pepper is a pacifist and basically this creates the opposite of War Machine. She refuses any kind of weapons and will not engage in combat.

I never really cared for Iron-Man other than in the Avengers for 30 years, but since Civil War, his comic has been about my favorite. It's tough for a DC guy like me to say it, but it's true.

Or they could call her Iron Boobs. I think that would work too.

My biggest disappointment with Pepper's armour is that they didn't go the Aphrodite A route...

When I was eight years old, this was non stop funny to me.

It's funny how much I've ping ponged back and forth between the Big Two throughout my life depending on where the talent was.

Marvel for the most part dominated my childhood reading habits, but DC kept me through my teens and twenties.

Past couple of years, Marvel's been getting more of my money than DC. Other than Geoff Johns and Grant Morrison, it seems to me that Marvel's got a fleet of stronger writers currently.

Fantastic Four's been getting my vote, and given how funny writer Aaron Hickman has made his Spider-man in the Astonishing Spider-man and Wolverine mini, I'm totally onboard his FF.
