Is Year one the very next one to come out?

Here's hoping they do as faithful a job as Batman TAS.

I really wish DKR could be a four-part mini series with an hour dedicated to each book. I'm sure they'll do a nice job with the adaption, but I'd love to see it in a format where so much wouldn't need to be cut.

I'm really looking forward to Year One, though. One of my favorite Batman stories and one of the few that the Animated Series didn't adapt in one way or the other.

Wonder if Killing Joke will ever make it.

Well, from what Bruce Tim & the Director say...it's a misconception that they have to "cut" from a story to make it fit. They actually have to add some to bring the time up to 90 minutes, or an hour.

Guess DKR doesn't have as much story as New Frontier. They cut a lot of stuff from it.

Well, in the interview...the weren't talking about TDKR, but Batman:Year One...and Animated adaption's in general.

Year One comic is stretched a bit probably to take up four issues. They will probably dwell more on the middle portion of the story where Bats is in costume terrorizing Gotham's underworld.

They already announced that after Batman Year One, they are doing JLA: Doom based on the Tower of Babel storyarch. This was just announced last week:

I see that the team that did All Star Superman is working on TDKR, but not that it's the next one. Glad to see it's being done though.

^^ Second that, I've always thought Kurt Russell would make a cool old Batman.

Kurt isn't old enough or fat enough to be the old, fat Bruce. I thought Nick Nolte would be the best pick. He's got the age, weight, gruff voice and acting skills to be awesome as old, retired Bruce Wayne.

I was more thinking of his voice, especially in Escape from New York. Be perfect for Bats. Never really thought of the Dark Knight Bats as fat, just the cartooning style Miller used to draw him. Superman even comments how good of shape Bruce is in in the book.
