Yeah. I don't HATE it, but I don't get what they're going for with the Visible Man look. Maybe they're recycling CGI from Dr Manhattan?

                >Just glad we aren't seeing his little "GL".

Yeah; considering how unfortunate that was with the aforementioned Doc. Although considering we can see everything else (down to his navel) it's kinda odd. (Unless you've read "Normalman.")

                  They're definitely not "socks".

Really? Seems obvious that they're going for a more organic choice for how the "traditional GL costume" manifests itself from a "power ring" context.

Now... a logical compromise would be that Hal makes a final decision to
use his "GL-esque powerful will" to make something more "human suit"
than power-generated image in an attempt to be viusually pleasing to
his movie's populace... both the fictional populace and in real life too.

Yeah, but that's what I don't get. It could look like anything, since the power is directed by Hal's will. So really ANY design would be plausible. (Apparently Hal thinks about connective tissue a lot now.) I know there's a tendency to busy up the standard her tights when they make films, but this is kinda weird. Could be worse; it COULD be rubber, or have repeating Green Lantern emblems throughout, or weird seams, or straps, and it's not a leather bodysuit.... but it's still kind of odd to me. Maybe it's supposed to be internally lit, to represent the power contained inside him? (Like Dr Manhattan?)

The toes are the only thing bothering me, and I doubt you'll notice them much. If Rob Liefeld does the comic adaptation, you'll never see them.

I understand a costume designer's desire to attempt to improve upon comic book superhero costumes, but I don't get how someone could look at Green Lantern's costume and says, "I know what will make that look better. Just the thing to make this costume pop onscreen... TOES!"

                              They wouldn't.

The idea is that the body... um ...."organic" is lit up...
the toes are a result of THAT "lit up" idea.... so if ANYthing,
if the designer/s thought the toes showing were "cool",
it was an afterthought of the "light idea"... and not an idea
to make the costume "pop" but rather to make the idea of lighting
up the body more complete/consistent in the image.
