What's your favorite Super Friends episode

So what are everyone's favorite Super Friends episode's

Mine was the Challenge of the Super Friends in which the villains went into the past to interfere with the origins of Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. it was a neat way to tell the origins of the three characters.

I thought it was cool that Warren Ellis paid homage to the episode, I believe in Planetary No. 9 in a story that basically retold the origins of Supes, GL and Wondy.

From the first season, I liked the one that guest starred Green Arrow. Loved how the villain keep the shrunken heroes in jars. The probably got the idea for it from Bride of Frankenstein.

Superfriends '73: It's kinda hard to pick one, 'cos I like so many of them, but I'll say Superman Vs. The Raven

Superfriends '77: Day Of The Plant Creatures

    Challenge Of The SuperFriends: none

World's Greatest Superfriends: The Superfriends Meet Frankenstein

My favorite all time episode is "Universe of Evil" from the World's Greatest season. It still holds up well today even. The Super Enemies of the parallel world were really sadistic for a Saturday morning cartoon. Evil Superman was going to cause a volcano to erupt, just because he could! The fact that they got away with Superman exclaiming "Great Satan!" and had a devil's face on the Hall of Evil boggles the mind. The designs of the Super Enemies were just too cool for school. All-red Batman. Robin with a goatee and a mustache! Haggy Wonder Woman. Eye-Patch Aquaman! And of course, red-black, red-eyed Superman! Can you tell I like this one? I kept waiting for the SF to return to that world like Superman promised.

Other favorites include the first season episode with Green Arrow, the All-New SF Hour episode with Dracula, Challenge episodes with the origins of the SF, and then the Legion of Doom origins (the first time I saw Luthor's origin) and the one where the SF all die.

The WOZ SF episode was fun, as was the Frankenstein one. For the Super Powers episodes, it has to be "The Fear". I mean, c'mon!!!

Also one of my favorites. Although I could never understand why the good SFs never used Kryptonite on the evil Superman. Seemed like a no brainer to me even as a kid.

I think you are getting "The Fear" mixed up with a later BTAS episode that touches on Batman's origin. His parents walk down an alleyway that turns into a large gun, dripping blood! and then fires.

But yes, "The Fear" has Batman reliving his parents' murders following exposure to Scarecrows' fear transmitter.

Oh! I forgot about the All New SuperFriends: The Brain Machine. Dr. Cranum after turning into that weird mutant would make a good custom.

I think Fear was written by Stan Berkowitz. That was a fine episode and I'm pretty sure the first telling of batman's origin on TV. There wasn't an origin episode from the TV series or from the two filmation series. I've never watched the Batman serials from the 40s, so I'm unsure if the origin was handled there.

I also liked the 80s version of Death of Superman. It wasn't really and adaption of the imaginary story from Superman 149, but it had some of the elements. The 1988 Filmation series also did a version of it prior to the 1990s version of Death of Superman and Morrison's All-Star Superman.

Filmation? You mean Ruby Spears, correct?

I THINK Alan Burnett wrote that. He went on to write/produce just about every DCU animated series/movie at one time or another, starting with BTAS.

The impact that the COTSF episode "THE FINAL CHALLENGE" had on me is
weirdly unshakable... in spite of the typical SF lack of "sophistication"
(as T-bolt put it), I still am impressed by that episode's dynamics between
heros and villains, alternately battling each other and working together.

Don't have one. I thought Superfriends was OK especially for a Saturday Morning Cartoon. I was more of a Marvel Superheroes Cartoon kid. I saw the Marvel Cartoons when they were in reruns..not when they first aired in the 60's. Superfriends just never did it for me. If I had to choose I probably would choose any episode from the Legion Of Doom era. The early crap with Wendy and Marvin
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                              The beauty that surrounds them
