I remember when he sold off his collection in 2002 when he got married to Lisa Marie Presley.

An older comic collector friend of mine said "that's what happens - when collectors get married they sell off their collections for the extra cash". A few of my friends argued with him for a while asking "How can Nicholas Cage need cash?" and they argued about how much money he made. My older more experienced friend just said having assets has nothing to do with having money.

I remembered all this recently when Nicholas Cage filed for bankruptcy. Not so much because I care about Nicholas Cage that much - but because I took that all as a little lesson about how appearing to be rich and having money are two different things.

I read in another article that he received a big cash settlement from his insurance company for this book. He will have that little issue to take care of if he decides to keep it once he gets it back.
