Flashpoint retro-changing continuity

Bleeding Cool is reporting that the Flashpoint event could change impart lasting continuity changes in the DCU and tons of new No. 1 issues.

Basically the set-up for the series is that Reverse Flash has been traveling into the past and changing history in an effort to get rid of Barry Allen, thus mucking up the DCU.

Bleeding Cool reports its tracking a rumor about one of the lasting continuity changes that will garner huge media attention.

Any guesses what it could be?

It's far fetched, but could it have to do with changing aspects of Superman's origin?

I've barely followed the lawsuit between DC and the families of Siegel and Shuster, the Man of Steel's creators, but I believe DC loses the sole rights to certain aspects of Superman's origin in 2013.

Could part of the idea behind Flashpoint be a way to skirt around those aspects of Superman's origin?

Again, far fetched, but it's fun to ponder.

Any other speculation?

I'm refusing to take part in Flashpoint. I'm just so sick of DC right now. I love the characters but I tire of these so called "universe changing" stories.

DC should just give up on continuity all together. I think they should bring back and embrace the Hypertime concept. I mean, they worship at the alter of Grant Morrison, and that was one of his better ideas. It all happened, or it didn't if you don't like it.

Does superman play a big role in flash point? From what I've seen of it so far cycborg plays a big part and even aquaman and wonder woman have big parts but the only thing I've seen about superman so far is a story about Lois lane and the resistance.

me too....After laying out $$$ on all of the Infinite Crisis/Final Crisis/52/Countdown/Blackest Night stuff over the last several years I need a break....
