I stick to my original statement, too much blubering for me.

It's been a while since I've seen the X-men movies. I like them, but they aren't really go to films for me when I want to rewatch something, so I'm just going on standout impressions.
1) Loved the opening scene of X-men with magneto in the concentration camp. Gives you an instant understanding of the antagonist's motivation.
2) Nightcrawler's invasion of the White House in X2. To me, it's the single most effective display of a super hero's power ever committed to screen. Better than the comics, which I can't say about any other character from any movie.
3) Relationship between Scott and Logan in the first film. I thought it played perfect, really delineating each personality and it showed how Jean could be drawn to either one, despite their sophomoric one upsmanship.
4) Patrick Stewart is perfect for the role of Xavier. Everyone knew it, but the fact the deal was made to cast him was pretty incredible.
5) the exorcist-like scene in x3. It's really the only scene, to me, that truly captured the essence of the threat Phoenix posed in the comics.
6) the Wolverine action scenes from X2 were solid, and while Jackman isn't the Wolverine from the comics, he's very compelling and gets close enough that it's not totally foreign.
7) the Danger Room scene from X3, a whole lot of fan service here with sentinels and the fastball special
8) Ellen Page's casting as Kitty Pryde was spot on. Hope she gets some good scenes in the forthcoming film.
9) the Hellfire club scenes from first Class. While not exactly like the comic, it did capture the feel of a decadent underground society.
10) I really liked all the Xavier School scenes from the films. They did a nice job of establishing the spirit of the school.
11) the finale of First class was really well done to me. The threat echoed both X-men 1 and No. 200, which I thought were nice nods to the comics.
I could write an even longer list of what I didn't like or near misses or what should have been done, but I'd rather dwell on what I liked about the movies than what I didn't.Comment

In the comments about the effects for x1 I think people are forgettg it just how bad CGI looked in the 90's even in 99 when this was shot the only mostly CGI film at that point was the much maligned (and rightly i feel) phantom menace along with the SW special editions. So many of the effects were practical effectsComment
