BATMAN to Re-Boot After DKR...then Justice League?

Well, we all saw this coming. Of course WB isn't going to stop making Batman Movies after Nolan finishes his Trilogy. But I'm not quite sure what they mean by "Re-Boot...as Nolan will continue to stay on as a Producer.
My Guess is...they are calling it a "re-boot" because they will have an entirely different cast...not because they plan on re-telling his origin again.

The plan then is to work BATMAN into the Justice League....ala what Mavel is doing with the Avengers.

    Thoughts?

Is this confirmed, or just rampant rumor?

If true, it surprises me that they'd announce such plans before DKR even starts filming. Kind of undercuts THIS movie a bit.

I heard the JL movie rumor arise again yesterday. WB said they weren't going down that road just a few months back. Hmmm....

Okay, I've seen elsewhere online too. Sorry, you just can't be too careful with this type of stuff.

It is surprising that Robinov would start talking about this now. But it may be a bit of a marketing ploy to deflect interest from Marvel's slate of movies coming out this summer. And it kind of "anchors" Green Lantern a bit too.

For Robinov to go ahead and mention the JLA plans tells me Warners must be pretty happy with what they have going on with the Green Lantern film.

They have to have confidence in GL to publicly talk about such a plan. While you can't count on a film happening until it actually is filming, I think it is a wise move to spin characters like Flash or Aquaman out of a JLA movie rather than build to it with individual films. First it would be 2020 before a JLA movie could happen if Warners produced Flash, Aquaman and Wonder Woman films before JLA. Secondl, by that time they would probably have to recast GL, and third, a JLA film can be a sort of trial balloon on the characters.

It would let the producers see which characters work best on film and even which character(s) have the most traction with audiences.

Warners is supposed to already have GLII and Flash in development. It might schedule shooting the JLA film right after the Flash and right before GLII to take up less of the actors time. That's probably too optimistic of a plan, but studios did such things in the 30s and 40s and it does seem Warners and Marvels are using sort of the studio model in developing these films.

When Warners retools Batman, I think it would be a perfect time to do Dick Grayson's origin with a teen Robin. The character was too old in Batman Forever and if Warners hues closely to the original story, playing up the blackmail and murder elements of the story, it might be fairly interesting.

I welcome any and all Batman films... unless they have nipple suits and involve Schumacher

The thing that bums me out about this is...I LOVE the current Cast!

I hate to start all over again and play "the casting game". I kid you not, it actually stresses me out worrying who they will get to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. Because if you miss the mark on the main Character...then you've got nothing.

Love the Nolan movies, but would really like to see a different direction to them and not just some other director aping Nolan's work.

Keep Christian Bale around long enough to do Miller's Dark Knight

That's actually what Zack Synder calls his "10 Year" plan. Ten years from now, when Bale is older...Synder wants to make TDKR.

I think Bale will walk away when Nolan does. If he's producing though...maybe he'll stay.

I'd like to see them at least keep Oldman as Gordon. I love that guy!

I can't wait to see how Nolan and Bale wrap up this trilogy. With Wayne Manor, the Batcave, and Batmobile in need of reconstruction, the new designs should be very interesting. Easily the best film series on Batman to date.
