Are vintage Star Wars comics worth anything?

I've been clearing out my comic book collection.
Getting rid of the stuff I don't really care about.
It's been kind of nice clearing a bunch of space and really defining my collection.

But now I am getting to some stuff I am on the fence about.
I've got the full run of the Marvel Star Wars comics.
I knida like that I have them. But I haven't even looked in the box in probably 10 years now.
So, I am thinking if they are worth anything, probably best to just get rid of them.
Now, I'm not talking about looking for huge sums of cash or anything.
If I broke the collection into 2 lots and put it on ebay. Could I realistically get somewhere around $60 or better for the full run?

I've been doing that with my Wolverine and Xmen books lately.
Lots of like 50-60 books. Ungraded. Starting at 99 cents + shipping. And have been averaging around 50 cents a book.
But I was just tired of keeping those things around. And didn't care if they sold for opening bid. The Star Wars I am kind of attached to, so if they won't get me any money, I'll probably just hang on to them for another 10 years.

I always thought it was just the first 6 issues (original prints) and the last issue that commanded a decent price...

You hit it right on the head. Last Issue is probably more expensive than issue 1 or the variation of Number 1.

The last few issues are harder to find since Marvel was winding the series down and thus there were lower print runs.

Also, the first 6 issues were reprinted...a lot, so check for the printing in the indicia. And #1 had a $.35 price variant that can go upwards of $1000 in mint, much more if graded. But it must be the first printing variant, as later printings also can be 35 centers. It's confusing, but worth investigating a bit.

That is crazy! I never would have guessed that high. I have scores of Star Wars comics and always thought they had no value.

It's hard to imagine nowadays that Star Wars was really "over" at one time. The Marvel comic dragged on for a bit. But by then the Power of the Force figures were gone, the Ewoks and Droids toons were canceled. It was the last Star Wars presence left at the time.

I had no idea the last issue was worth much of anything, but it makes sense I guess.

                Hmmmm....

They're not worth much monetarily. I just bought a ton of 'em, since I'm trying to complete my set. (I still enjoy them.) I got most of them for less than a dollar each. The last issue is worth a few bucks, 'cos it had a really small run, and nobody noticed it was the end at the time. ($50 seems about average, but I've seen higher and lower. It lists at around $120.) There's one version of #2 that's pretty valuable; with the 35 cent price. The early issues list at high prices, but they're pretty common so you might not get top dollar. (I got the first six issues a couple years back for less than $10.)

So, basically things are just the same as when I quit following comics about 7-8 years ago.
The early and late issues are worth the most.

Sadly the early issues I have aren't in the greatest shape, as they are the ones I bought off the newstand and read multiple times.

After a little more poking around, I came up with the same thing rche did.
Seems like about $2 a book. Which I'd be happy with.
So I guess I will dig that box out this weekend

At least I will be fairly sure that stuff will sell. Unlike the piles of independant and Free Comic Book Day stuff I will be grouping and listing also.
