Ive seen it and as a die hard Conan Fan I do not agree whatsoever with the casting of Jason Momoa as CONAN! But who knows I might be suprised and it might be a good movie. I give everything a chance but it would be very hard to surpass the original conan. In my opinion it would be hard to capture the dark feel of the original movie in todays High tech special effects movies.
Is this the "dark and smokey" trailer we're talking about? If so...it was a pretty lame trailer. Now, that doesn't mean the Movie will suck...but it wasn't good advertising.
I always thought Devon Larratt had the right look and build for the part, but Hollywood's casting has been a bit wonky lately. I'll see it and hope for the best.
The trailer is not that great. Hopefully the movie will be good.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
The Arnold Conan was more of a nod to the John Buscema Conan of the day. This one appears to be leaning more towards the novel characterization. I can accept it, if it's done well. I'm like the rest. I'll reserve judgment until I see it. But I WILL see it.

Agree.
As good as the Arnold movie was as a barbarian movie, it was really lacking as a Conan movie.l
Then again, I was a fan of the books first. Then the comics. Then came the movie. So I was already a big fan of the real Conan.
The BWS vision of Conan fit my mental image of him better.
Was never a fan of the muscle builder / steroid superhero look that became so popular.
I kind of like the fact that the teaser trail is just that, a big tease.
Gives a few glimpses and that is about it.
One thing I did like in it though. The voice. When he spoke the few lines that were in the trailer, I get a bit hopeful. As that sounded a lot more like what Conan should sound like, than Arnold ever did.
