And it makes sense that Grant Morrison is behind it...He RUINED X-Men! Might as well finish Batman off as well! And hey...might as well bring in Frank Quitely too...for some really HORRIBLE Artwork, to put the final Nail in the Coffin.

Aww, poor Batty. Morrison's the only reason I'm reserving judgement. He's yet to do anything I really can't stand, except his Doom Patrol run. XMen, 7 Soldiers, All Star Superman, even his stuff he's plotted or whatever like Uncle Sam and the Atom are fun reads.

I knew You would Pipe in Tbolt...and disagree with Me...but that's cool. I don't totally hate Morrison...I liked His JLA run...and His recent Batman run with Kubert. But My problem with Him is...He has no respect of the source Material...and the Comic Book Companie's give Him way too much control...so that He's allowed to screw things up.

Surley they have other characters to revent, other than Batman. All his books are doing rather well.... Not sure I can buy another DC book after reading this news... This is bigger Bullcrap than Captain America Dying..

The whole Fifth World/New Gods tie-in taints everything....yes Batman is a member of the JLA and occasionally he's pushed into a sci-fi world but it should NOT be used as a springboard to changes in the status quo of the Batman universe.

Since Morrison is involved, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being....supposedly his upcoming "Final Crisis" is like the "Lord of the Rings" of the DC Universe (his analogy, not mine) and features everyone from Anthro to Kamandi. I'm only assuming that this Bruce Wayne dying story arc is only temporary and will only serve to once again show us that just because you put on the cape and the cowl (talking to you Jason Todd) doesn't mean you're "The Batman" (shades of Jean-Paul Valley!)

I'm not sure how I feel about this. My first reaction is "Oh hell no." But then I remember that Morrison is behind it, and the guy is known to take characters in some funky terrain, but always bring them back intact, and most times, reaffirm their classic nature.

BUT, Batman is a very HUMAN character. Him dying and coming back isn't like Superman, whose often times is portrayed as nigh-immmortal anyway. And especially becoming a New God just seems a little TOO out there for Bruce Wayne. Don't get me wrong, I like my Batman being able to hang with the cosmic stuff, and not always be "urban". But this makes all those werido 50s sci-fi Batman tales seem like Batman: Year One. And if someone is going to replace Bruce, why oh why is it Jason Todd? The poor schmuck should have stayed dead.

Of course, all of this may be either wrong, or it could be part of a continuity bending alternate reality. But still...it makes me nervous. We just got the sane, rational 70s-style Batman back. I'd hate to lose him.

Hmm, I feel after reading a lot of his stuff that he has a great respect for the source material, not to mention a great deal of knowledge of it. Go pick up Seven Soldiers or his current Superman. Both are well done superhero adventure. He has enough respect of it to not rehash the same garbage over and over, instead exploring new territiory for the characters. Sure Batman's been around for 70 plus years, but why can't the character change a bit? if you want to see some great respect for the characters, at least you still have the semi annual All Star Batman.

We're not talking about the Character changing here....We're talking about killing Him off, and completely REPLACING Him with a different Character. It all comes down to this...Bruce Wayne IS Batman! Bruce didn't create Batman...the death of His Parent's did...it's what Makes Him Who He is........BATMAN!! It's not a Costume...Batman is Bruce's true Personality!
