Captain Carrot and The Final Ark

Anyone pick this up? I missed issue 1 but grabbed #2 today. Great stuff! I always liked Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew! It'd be nice to see DC do something with them on a regular basis (maybe as part of the Johnny DC line?) instead of once every twenty years or so.

    Hmmmm....

I haven't got 2 yet; but 1 was pretty good. I've heard that the series is gonna finally answer, once and for all, where the Zoo Crew universe fits in the DC continuity. (1 had a logo in the corner for one of them zillion issue tie ins, but I can't remember which one....)

Supposedly the CCAHAZC universe is now Earth-26, according to the little icon on the front cover. I guess all alternate Earths need to be numbered now but I prefer the Earth-C moniker instead (and Earth-C Minus for the Justa Lotta Animals universe). I remember after the original COIE, it was decided that Earth-C was now an alternate dimension adjacent to Earth, instead of a parallel Earth. Now it looks like it's back to being an alternate Earth.

I'm really enjoying this, and I'd never really been a Captain Carrot fan before. Still, I'd enjoyed the TT backup story and decided to give it a shot.

Great fun. Earth C-Minus is mentioned, and actually ties into an homage to a classic JLA story. Alley Kat Abra is fixed after what happened in the Teen Titans story, and it's a fun fix.

Although, I still have to admit that I love the idea that Captain Carrot #1 is the most valuable comic in the world after Starro destroyed all the others because his tentacles didn't look big enough. And that's not even talking about the Collar ID subplot.

Lots of fun, and although I think I've figured out who the big baddie is (it's pretty clear in issue 2) I'm looking forward to seeing how this all ties up next issue (this is three issues, right?).

One of my favorite comics as a kid. I might try to pick these up.
