    The Artist, Stephen Platt

    Hey guys,

Whatever happened to this guy ? I personally enjoyed his work, & was a big fan of the short lived Soul Saga,.. then poof, he's gone forever. Is he still alive ? Is he still drawing, or will he again ?

We are Kindred spirits here I'm a fan of Platt myself.Loved when he did Moonknight and when he drew Prophet. I loved Soul Saga some of his best work.

    Here's a fan website
Soul-Saga.com : Dedicated to the Art of Stephen Platt

He designed the Cover for George Michael's Freek Single.

That is an outstanding website KW ! But is anything new ? Or is this stuff mostly past art, before Soul Saga. Is he even drawing anymore ?

I haven't heard anything new. It's a shame. I really thought his artwork had really come along way and loved Soul Saga when It was out. I think he had gotten a bad rep for taking to long with his work.If I come up with anything I'll pass it along to you.

Refresh my memory, was he the McFarlane or Leifeld ripoff?

^ I think Liefeld...I never cared much for his (Platt's work) even though everyone else at the time seemed to be "oooh"ing and "aaah"ing...didn't matter though...he was soon gone from the comic seen very quickly it seems.

^^ I knew it was one of the two. That was back when there were a lot of Image clones.

Yes , he did grow with a fan base during the Leifeld clone days. However His work is so detailed , & better than any person in the Leifeld camp ,imo. Perhaps he draws, to a level that they all should have. I would never consider this guy a clone of Leifeld rotten body perportions,.. & I am a Leifeld fan. Not so much the art work, but like some of the characters he created.

I was never a huge fan of his work, but I met him when he was a student at the Ontario College of Art just prior to his first published work at Marvel. I remember seeing his Moon Knight pages and thinking that he had a style like MacFarlane cranked up a few notches. Seemed like a nice guy.

True That Liefield Was/Is a Hack....... Platt had style and was learning to draw and was getting better and better.

I still enjoy George Perez's work. All of them kind of spring boarded from his work and McFarlane.

Platt was supposed to be the second coming of Todd McFarlane.

Then Liefeld stole Platt from Marvel by paying him an ignorant amount of $$$ to come do Prophet for Image
