I may have to pick this up. I've never read that arc where his son died and I totally dig Aparo. It's 336 pages, so that sounds like a good value.

I'd like to read it too. It was really ahead of it's time. Aquababy's death was really unprecedented. Unfortunately, it was one of the first events that could be seen as darkening the DCU, and Aquaman has never really recovered.

I will own it... i want all the big guns stuff from the Bronze Age in TPB
            or other more convenient forms.

            thanks for the heads up.

To me Aparo did his best work in the early to late 1970s. His Aquaman run looked great, as did Brave and Bold and the Spectre. Glad Aquaman is getting some love.

What's cool about this is that not only does it have Aparo art, but I believe some of these issues have Don Newton artwork, which I love!

Amazon has had this on pre-order for about a month now for $20.

They're also coming out with a reprint book of the 70's Firestorm series and the Strange Adventures Deadman issues.

Guess this is the result of all the interest generated by the Brighest Day event. If nothing else good comes out of that event, at least we get some cool trades!

Yeah Newton did the art for at least #61-63 if I recall....

And I believe Batman guest stars in some of the Newton stories to boot! I think it was Newton's first stab at the Dark Knight.

Finally picked this one up...It's freakin' awesome! This is the definitive Silver Age Aquaman for me. It's all there: Mera, Aqualad, Aquagirl, Aquababy, Vulko, Black Manta, Ocean Master, Fisherman, Marine Marauder, The Shark, The Scavenger PLUS Kobra, The Weather Wizard, Batman, Green Lantern.

For the size of the book it might seem a little pricey ($29.99 list) compared to others of similar size that are $19.99-24.99 but the pages are really high-glossy colorful stuff that makes the artwork by Grell, Aparo and Newton pop!
